Christmas Presents

Excuse my cat's bum in the background! She loves to get in the middle of whatever I'm doing.. This year I didn't just get one, but two Christmas sets - my Sylvanian critters got plenty of presents under their tree(s) this year! Even though I said I like the chunky Christmas tree better, this one actually looked much better than I expected. The little decorations are very nice and I hadn't noticed the wreath underneath before, which looks really cute. I think my favourite toy is the little duckling on wheels! I noticed that the Father Christmas figure is a lot darker than in the picture - does anyone know what family he belongs to?

The Chocolate and Cottontail families are also new to Hazelnut Hollow. The Cottontail family has a little baby girl and the Chocolate family have a pair of twins. The twins also come with a little bottle and dummy, which I forgot to include in the picture!

Merry Christmas!

Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful Christmas and a happy, healthy 2015 (filled with Sylvanian critters)!

Little Sadie Persis is wearing a Christmas cape and hat I made especially for the winter holidays.

New Stuff

Last week I went to SSK to pick out some Christmas presents, and of course I couldn't resist buying some bits for immediate unwrapping! I got the Drawing Room, Breakfast Set and Vegetable Garden.

The fire in the fireplace actually lights up, although sadly you can't see it in this picture. Also included, but not shown, are two little wall lights. I've not attached them to the wall because I'm going to use wallpaper.

I've actually got a ton of gardening stuff, as I went on a bit of a buying spree on eBay. I've used items from the following sets in the next pictures: Vegetable Garden, Flower and Ivy, Gardening Shed and Flower Stall. The see-saw is from a baby carry case.

Hotel Set-Up

Since I had the flat all to myself for a couple of days I decided to set up my collection so far. Because the only space I have for my Sylvanians is right in front of a very large window, I can't take very good pictures because of the back-light.

I used my Luxury Master Bedroom, Girls Bedroom, Country Bathroom, Dinner Party and Christmas sets, as well as a few new sets which I will show in more detail in a separate post. As you can see I don't have any kitchen furniture yet - I wish there was a slightly smarter kitchen available, because the rustic and country kitchens don't really suit the hotel (although I do like the look of them).

The left and right wing are mostly empty still, apart from the bathroom and some assorted pieces of furniture.

Sadly the hotel walls and floors are still bare, as I've not yet had any time to look into wallpaper and rugs.

By the way, the lovely lawn is a 'grass tablecloth' my boyfriend bought for his wargaming and my Sylvanians. It's perfect because it's huge, foldable and the grass does not come off at all!

Christmas Set

The last two weeks were terribly busy so I haven't been able to spend much time on my new Sylvanian collection! My laptop decided to come down with a virus (which hasn't happened to me since about 2002), so I had to completely re-install Windows and reconfigure my whole set-up. I also traveled to Holland to see my family and sit an exam, I'll be flying back to London next Saturday. So today I went to this toy shop my mum had discovered a while back. It's quite difficult to find shops selling Sylvanians in Holland, so I was even more surprised when I found this Christmas set there! I think it's quite a difficult set to get hold of and was looking into buying it via Japanese auction, and here it was :)

Excuse the crummy pictures!

I'm very happy with this set, I think the bunny snowman is my favourite! I might try to flock it to make it look extra snowy. I also like this chunky tree much better than the one in the 'Santa set'.

I also bought two new garden-related sets recently, I will take some pictures of those when I get back!
